Friday Night Family Fun

Like a lot of families, our weekdays and weekends haven’t been much different from one another since Covid-19 changed daily life in March. Dinners out, gatherings with friends, movie nights and other fun weekend activities have pretty much ceased for the time being and we have all gotten comfortable entertaining ourselves at home.

I’m glad I glanced at my inbox this morning and opened a message from 417 Magazine telling about the drive-in balloon glow tonight. Mark and I have gone to the balloon glow event every year since we moved here in 2012. We really couldn’t avoid it because we lived on the Finley River in Ozark and the park where they held the event was across the water and visible from our back deck! This year they are moving the show from Ozark right next door to Nixa because everyone will remain in their cars and drive through a field to look at the balloons. There won’t be vendors or live music, but we’ll take it!

When I was driving home from reiki circle the other night I noticed they put a RibCrib (one of our family food favorites) in at the shopping center near our house! Woo Hoo! Tonight we will have take out BBQ before we put on our pajamas, load the car with drinks and snacks and snuggly blankets (and one very cute Scottish Terrier) and head to Nixa to stare at lighted hot air balloons in a field. If that doesn’t sound like a fantastic Friday night in the Ozarks, I don’t know what would! 😉
