My Favorite Magical Podcasts

Art by luckyluna at konachan.com

My friends have been recommending podcasts to me for years and I never felt I had the time in my schedule to listen to them. I was intrigued but never looked into it. Then, several months ago, I found that breakfasts with Fox are the perfect time to quietly listen. It helps get my brain going but isn’t over stimulating for a toddler. I also like starting the day thinking about magical topics! Of course, you could listen while soaking in a bath, at the grocery store, while painting (like the girl in the art above) or any other time you want to listen to stimulating conversation and learn something new. I realize there are millions of podcasts and I probably don’t know even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to magical/witchy podcasts BUT the three below are the ones I have been led to and that I keep going back to.

1. DREAM FREEDOM BEAUTY. This was the first show I started tuning into. A woman I follow on Instagram mentioned it and I decided it was time I give a podcast a try! “Dream Freedom Beauty with Natalie Ross delves into what it takes to heal between the worlds of human, nature and spirit. Our guests share their approaches to working with spirits, deepening their connection with nature, and embodying their true selves. Topics covered include reconditioning yourself, working with ancestors and nature spirits, herbalism, plant spirit medicine, shadow integration, what it means to be a witch today, conscious co-creation and more. You can dream into being a life of beauty, and our weekly episodes will support you in learning this process for yourself!” – as described on the Podcasts App. The first episode I listened to was ‘Herbalist Asia Suler of One Willow Apothecaries with a grounded approach to plant and stone spirit medicine.’ I enjoyed it so much that I came back to Dream Freedom Beauty the next morning.

2. STARSEED SURVIVAL GUIDE-ACTIVE CULTURE FAMILY. I have been following the Active Culture Family Instagram page for awhile now, and when I started listening to podcasts, I knew I would listen to Erin’s. Her Instagram page is a favorite of mine and I think she is so beautiful and magical. “Join esoteric women’s health practitioner and founder of Active Culture Family Erin Rivera Merriman in her quest to share all the best of what she has discovered on her own healing journey.” -as described on Podcasts App. Mark and I actually listened to the episode ‘Transcending Relationship Hell with Ceremonial Cacao-with Paola Garcia’ on our long drive home from Colorado. I have enjoyed the half dozen episodes I have heard so far and will keep coming back.

3. RUNE SOUP. My sister witch Amber recommended this one to me and I really like it too! I’m actually intentionally NOT seeking out any new podcasts at the time, because between these three I have more than I can keep up with. “Talking occultism, psi, history and culture. Coming to you from sunny west London!” -as described on Podcasts App. A man named Gordon hosts this show and his English accent is soothing first thing in the morning. The first episode I listened to was ‘Talking plant medicine and Appalachian folklore with Becky Beyer.’ This podcast so far actually feels the most “witchy” to me and I have been listening to it more than the others. So many good topics, and Gordon is just a really good interviewer.

If you know of a witchy/magical/spiritual podcast that you just love, please let me know the name in the comments below. I hope you get a chance to listen to these and maybe like me, you’ll be listening to a podcast for the first time!
