Magical Packing List

This weekend my little family loads up in a rental Jeep and we hit the road bound for Colorado! Fresh mountain air, shopping in Boulder, and seeing friends I have been missing for years are the main agenda. Road trips with toddlers can be challenging, so we aren’t making any firm plans and are staying open to where the days take us.

I am a list maker. When Fox and I are up and out of bed, before we have even had breakfast, I start my day by writing out a to-do list. Once my list is complete I have a sense of calm; I know what the day has in store and I can focus on one task at a time without getting overwhelmed. As you can imagine, when we are nearing a vacation, I have several lists going. A to-do list of things that should be done before we leave (watering the plants), a packing list for me, one for Fox and of course my Magical Packing List!

Some of the most spiritual and magic filled moments I have experienced have taken place on adventures…in places like the Sagre de Cristo mountains, the Atlantic Ocean or White Sands Desert. I also like to set up the hotel room ( VW Bus, casita, air B&B, or wherever we are staying) with touches of magic. Each journey is different and requires a different bag of tools. For instance, when we stay at an Air B&B I will bring along incense to burn, but at a hotel I know we will be in a non smoking room so I leave them behind. If we are traveling to a forest or other remote location, I will bring crystals for meditation and bathing rituals. On this trip we will be in Boulder and I know I will likely purchase a few new crystals so I won’t pack any to take along (I’ll wear a crystal necklace on the drive though!). So as you see, I put thought into our location and what we will be doing while we are there and plan accordingly. Here is what I’ve got on my list for Colorado so far.

Magical Packing List

  • Chakra Candles
  • Tea light Candles
  • Lighter/Matches
  • Herb Tea
  • Motherwort Tincture
  • Clarity & Intention Tincture
  • CBD Oil
  • CBD Salve
  • Earth Oil
  • Witchy Book
  • Rose Hydrosol
  • Golden Myhrr Oil
  • Dragon’s Blood Oil
  • Jasmine Oil

I don’t foresee doing spell work during this vacation but I want to set up our space to be cozy and have my herbal allies near. A dropper of motherwort in the morning to keep nerves calm. Rose hydrosol for face, hair and even to spritz on the bedsheets. My clarity and intention tincture  (King’s Road Apothecary) before we hit the streets. Candles on counter tops and the bath ledge for soft light; essential oils for the bath water and to wear as perfume. A cup of herbal tea, CBD oil and salve and a few pages of The Return Of The Witch by Paula Brackston before bed. These things will make our hotel room feel like a magical oasis!

Am I forgetting anything? What witchy items do you like to bring with you when you travel? I’ll be back in a few weeks once we return!

~ Blessed Be ~
